Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 September 2026

Short version

We collect the minimum needed to run the Service. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising, and we do not use tracking cookies. You can delete your account and its data yourself, at any time.

Who is responsible

unstem.me is operated by Brian Stanley, an individual based in Argentina. For any privacy question or request, reach us through the contact form on unstem.me.

What we collect

If you use the Service without an account: the audio or link you submit, and your IP address. The IP is used to apply the daily quota and to block abuse. It is not used to build a profile of you.

If you sign in with Google: your email address, your name and your profile picture, as provided by Google. We never receive your Google password.

While you use the Service: the tracks you process and their results, so you can find them again in your history; your remaining MIDI credits; any feedback or chat messages you choose to send; and, if you turn them on, the browser subscription needed to send you push notifications.

If you subscribe to a paid plan: your plan, its status and the identifiers our payment provider gives us. We never see or store your card details.

Analytics: we count page views with a cookieless analytics service that does not fingerprint you or track you across other sites.

Why we are allowed to use it

We process this data to provide the Service you asked for, to keep it working and free from abuse, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Where the law requires consent — for push notifications, for example — we ask for it first, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Who else processes it

Running the Service means a handful of specialist providers touch data on our behalf, each limited to one job:

We can tell you exactly which companies these are if you ask — just get in touch. We do not sell or rent your data to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Separated stems are deleted 5 days after they are created on the free plan, and are kept while your subscription is active on a paid plan. Your account and its history are kept until you delete the account. Server logs are kept for a short period for debugging and abuse prevention. Billing records are kept as long as accounting law requires.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data. Deleting your account, from your account settings, removes your account, your track history and your credits permanently — we do not keep a shadow copy. For anything the interface does not cover, reach us through the contact form on unstem.me and we will handle it.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will say so on the site before it takes effect.
